This is what is used in schools and offices around the
world.
This wiring
is made up of 8 wires or 4 pairs that are twisted around
each other. The "5" in Category 5 is due to the number of
twists per inch. This helps prevent electrical
interference. Still, wire run near electric motors and
over flourescent light ballasts will have
trouble.
Be careful
that your wiring runs are not sharply bent or pinched.
Unlike phone wire, data wire stapled to the walls will be
degraded in its performance. This wiring can be
terminated by amatures with a little practice, the right
tools and testing equipment.
